Plants! Plants! Plants! GO GREEN!
Indoor air can be up to 12 times more polluted than outdoor air, contaminated by VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from paints, varnishes, adhesives, carpets and more. How do we help to protect our children and ourselves from these toxins, you ask....open windows and doors as often as possible AND place indoor plants in rooms where your family spends a lot of time. Indoor plants are said to eliminate indoor toxins. Just make sure to keep them out of your child's reach. A study from the University of Georgia tested 28 indoor plants and compared their ability to remove VOCs from the air....WINNERS: purple heart plant, purple waffle plant, the English ivy, and the asparagus fern.
