DIY Shabby Chic Chandelier
I've been having a lovely time transforming Lovebug's nursery into a "big girl" room over the past few weeks. Last week's project was a tea table for her room, and this week was a Chandelier! I found this fabulous brass chandelier at Re-Store in town for $55 and then walked on over to Lowes and purchased a $4 can of white mulit-purpose spray paint. When I got the chandelier home, I removed the bulbs and shades and sprayed the entire chandelier with the white spray paint. I opted not to primer the fixture first because I wanted a little bit of the brass to show a tiny bit in random spots. As the spray paint was drying, I wrapped the outside of the shades with pink organza ribbon and embellished it with pearls. I wrapped the chandelier arms with pearls and trimming and added pearls and artificial flowers to the base of the fixture for some dimension as well as some hanging crystals...just to fancy it up a bit! :)

Britax B-Ready Stroller
One word for this stroller....AMAZING! This stroller is fully functionable for a mom with one child or with two. I have been planning on ordering the Phil and Ted Explorer as we plan for a second child (God willing), but since being introduced to the Britax B-Ready, I am sure that IT will be our family's next new set of wheels! The Britax B-Ready has all of the capabilities of the Phil and Ted, with its slim and compact design, BUT WITH A WHOLE LOT MORE! View the link below to see what I am talking about. Not only is this stroller the most versitle that I've seen, it is also made by a brand that I know and TRUST with my child's safety! Britax makes one of the top child safety seats.

Fancy Friday
This week's Favorite Fancy Find is Scentsy burners and scents. I am burning "Beach" in my house right now and it smells amazing!!! It lasts for hours and smells up my entire house, upstairs AND down! **Note: I have found that if I only put two cubes in my counter burner and only one in my plug in burner, the fragrance is stronger. Also, be sure to change out your cubes every 20 hours or so.

"Our Children arrive exactly as they are designed. There was no mistake here. They are a direct and unmistakable gift from God. He has given us children capable of copious amounts of unconditional love because we haven't been open to receiving the more indrenct ways He's been showering it on us for the previous years of our lives." ~Courtney Heigele

Big Girl Bed
Lovebug turned 2...so now we are in the process of transforming her nursery into her "Big Girl Room" with her very own "Big Girl Bed!" Soooo exciting! This will be her 6th night in her new big girl bed...and much to my surprise, the adjustment was an easy one. She has not had much of a problem at all making the change from her crib to her bed. I was expecting her to have more difficulties making the adjustment because not only did she get a new bed, but we replaced her nursery furniture with all new furniture that COMPLETELY changed her room. My little girl made the change, like she has most others over the past two years...with intoxicating enthusiasm! I have always said it, Lovebug is an extremely well adjusted little girl...she enjoys her routine, but sure knows how to roll with the punches! IM A PROUD MOMMA!

THIRSTY FOR THOUGHTS THURSDAY
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask oursleves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Acutally, who are you notto be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking yourself so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Just getting started!
I've been wanting to begin a blog for a while now, but kept putting it off...this early morning my insomnia is rearing its pretty head...so I figure, what better time than now?!
Truth is, we all have a story (or a few); life experiences that we carry around with us everyday! Some are good, others are bad...but either way, they are ours! They are ours to repress or reflect on, to learn from and even to share with others. I TRY to let my experiences accesorize my life! I like to think of my good, great and amazing memories as my favorite pair of stilettos...that perfect accessory to bring my stride a little more confidence, beauty and happiness! Those bad, ugly and miserable experiences...well, lets just say, its nice to think of those pesky things as that old worn-in, beat-up designer handbag stuffed in a box in the back of my closet...and then call it vintage! Those memories might be beat-up...I might rather just repress them and never think of them again....or I can break out that "vintage" handbag from the back of the closet and wear it proudly. Its accessories like this that give us character...that set us apart from everyone else! NOW....lets share!!!! :)
We share, we analyze and we learn from each other's stories. I think that the ability to relate to antoher woman's rants, joys and heartbreaks help us to make sense of our own! We all do it! We do it most everyday over coffee, or even better, over wine. We do it at a park on a playdate standing next to a fellow mommy gabbing about binkies and potty training while pushing our kiddos on the swing...or sometimes on our computers late at night, blogging, reading, typing what-have-you's from our day...this is what we DO...its like shopping...ITS OUR THERAPY! By sharing, we may even, just possibly, help someone else find comfort in a time of need...heck maybe a complete stranger that you don't even know is reading and relating to your babbles of the day! Anyhow....this is why Im blogging! Welcome to my rants...can't wait to see where this leads.... :)
